Black Republican
I feel like a black republican, money I got comin' in
Can't turn my back on the hood, I got love for them
Can't clean my act up for good, too much thug in 'em
Probably end up back in the hood, like fuck it then
That song is hot. I find myself constantly listening to the song. It's almost inspiring to me. It works on so many levels. First the beat is sick and the subject matter is actually good.
Every time I listen to it I feel like adding on to it. Now, I'm not a rapper or anything, shit, I can't even rhyme. but I can do basic poetry and this song is poetry. I’m feeling creative, so I'm share some creativity with ya. Feel free to make up your own too and post it.
I feel like a black republican, money I got comin' in
Can't turn my back on the hood, I got love for them
Can't clean my act up for good, too much thug in 'em
Probably end up back in the hood, like fuck it then
your boy got a little cash now,
and I'm pressured to get out of town
head across the county, away from my family
just buy a big house, instead of rats have mouse
forget about the hood that raise me, and the Ave that train me,
and when I was hungry, the neighbors that fed me
adapt a new culture, change who I am
vote against change, and buy a new suburban fam
hide the real streets from my kids
so when they learn about drugs, it's from other college kids
give them the life I never had
spoil them into a different kind of bad
be the token black guy
leave my old friends behind because they wouldn't get by
But as you see that, ain't me and it can't be me
I can't be ashamed of my past
and I can't be the last
When I can make holes in the hood a little less deeper
help the sick, poor, and the weaker
Like God said be my brother's keeper.
I feel like a black republican, money I got comin' in
Can't turn my back on the hood, I got love for them
Can't clean my act up for good, too much thug in 'em
Probably end up back in the hood, like fuck it then
This is fun. I feel like a black democratic with whole on my back. I'm really feeling Jay on the black republican thing. Based on convictions and class, alot of us should be republican, but we're not. why? can't turn my back on the hood. i love it. This is the true spirit of hip hop. not the same mundane crack or "i got money" rap. I'll give you one more.
I feel like a black socialist trying make the most of this
Can't turn my back on the hood, I got love for them
Can't clean my act up for good, too much thug in 'em
Probably end up back in the hood, like fuck it then
stomachs growling, no heat public housing
got a lil job, but my bills still mounting
hidden in gray skies, the world full of lies,
federal government ran by fat rich guys
man, Chase Morgan really own these lands
with federal reserves really in private hands
but tv doesn't help, classes flaunting their wealth
every station got me conscious of myself,
spend my saving on a nice bracelet,
i gotto fake it til you make it
then they street tax it,
you make, I take it and boy i hate it
now we may do wrong, but that's the poor song
but it was not that long, we was motion in the ocean,
40 years ago we caused a great commotion
now we think we changed skins, but really used lotion
acting brand new singing song of distribution
like killing the hood is a possible solution
but now I must buck shots
but today I shout the revolution will not be stopped
I feel like a black socialist trying make the most of this
Can't turn my back on the hood, I got love for them
Can't clean my act up for good, too much thug in 'em
Probably end up back in the hood, like fuck it then
I know a lot of people that dabble in rap or poetry, I challenge you to lay down a few lines, it's fun and liberating. be free!
